Johne Dobbs, AQHA President and John Barger  9-2013
Congratulations to John Barger!
John applied for an AQHA Ranching Heritage scholarship and won a weanling filly by French Flit from AQHA Ranching Heritage Breeder: Open Box Rafter Ranch in Faith, South Dakota.  He is now in a year long AQHA contest training his filly and competing for AQHA scholarships and prizes.  He plans on making a bulldogging team with his French Flit filly and his Double Tough Harlan gelding in the future.  A special thanks to Jim and Joni Hunt for their donations to the AQHA youth and to Johne Dobbs, AQHA President for being in Rapid City to recognize the recipients.  Good luck John!
Best of luck to David Brindley in the UK on your Tuffy gelding!  Photo is the second day under saddle.

"Hi there
I thought I’d get in touch as I’ve recently become a proud owner of one of DTH’s offspring Seren Oklahoma, bred in the UK. He’s now 6 years old and has come to me as an unbroken gelding. I have to say his temperament is fantastic, I’ve now had him under saddle for three weeks and during that short timescale he’s experienced travelling to two clinics and is making exceptional progress. I’ve bought him to show Western as a general all-around horse to do pleasure, trail, western riding and reining. I’m Chairman of the Western Equestrian Society here in the UK so will be showing him both AQHA and all breeds classes. This year is going to be steady bringing him on but we hope to be showing him at the AQHA UK Breed show in September. He will also be featuring in our Society magazine as were are doing a quarterly update report on his progress." - David

Update (07-2013):  "I thought you might like an update on our pony Seren Oklahoma. It’s now a year since we started him under saddle and last week-end he attended his first competition. We entered 6 classes and were placed in all 6 including a second place so a really good effort." - David

"Hi there, I just wanted to say hi as I own a gelding sired by Double Tough Harlan here in the UK and I absolutely adore him. He's a star, very very bright with an active mind and big heart.  Lovely to see his dad and siblings here on this site." - Kate
